Our Inspiration

The word "Ambrosia" means sweet smelling or delicious. Ambrosia was also the magical substance eaten by the Gods of Greek mythology who lived on Mount Olympus. The Gods kept their immortality from Ambrosia and without Ambrosia a God became weak. A human being who took it became strong and immortal.

Sometimes the Gods mixed Ambrosia with nectar as a drink and they also used it for bathing.

The Gods were served Ambrosia and nectar by Hebe, the daughter of Zeus and Her. One day she tripped and fell so Zeus dismissed her in the shape of an eagle and he went to earth to seize Ganymede, son of Tros, King of Troy, to serve the Gods.

Ambrosia is a family owned restaurant, inspired by the Greek Cuisine. The Restaurant is based on an olive farm in the suburb of Silverdale and it offers top quality food as well as homemade products such as olive oil and honey that is produced straight from the farm.
